I haven’t kept up with all the recent cupcake stand orders so here is a collage of some of our recent cupcake stand topper cakes. The collage includes several baby showers toppers and one topper for a wedding cupcake stand.

The wedding cake topper was created for a wedding at The Foundry in Long Island. The yellow fondant and white dots on the cake were created to match the invitation while the motorcyle on top of the cake includes the bride and groom with a “Just Married” sign hanging from the back. The bride is in her wedding dress with a white birdcage veil while the groom is in a dark suite with spiked hair and sideburns. The topper cake was carrot cake with vanilla buttercream.

We are happy to announce you can find several of our wedding and groom’s cakes in the Fall 2008 edition of Contemporary Brides New Jersey and New York. From the article:
“Your wedding cake will be one of the main attractions of your wedding. Very few guests actually lave the party until the cake has been cut, and they will make a point of wandering over tothe cake table to ogle it. So have your cake tie in with you rwedding colors, the look and theme you’ve worked so hard to create”

There’s also a section on groom’s cakes which features our fireman groom’s cake:
The groom’s cake, originally a southern tradition, has been around for quite some time. With some of today’s outrageous cake designs, it has made a fashionable comeback on the wedding scene…Today, the cake is meant to reflect the groom’s interests, whether it be hobbies, a favorite sport, his professions, etc.

One of the more popular groom’s cake requests from bride’s is the guitar cake. For this cake we created a replica of the groom’s guitar based on a picture provided by the bride. The cake is red velvet with vanilla buttercream and we delivered it to Cross Keys in Andover, NJ.

We created this cake for the North NJ Market Party for The Knot Magazine at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge NJ. The theme was “Going Green” with a Rain Forest decor. This 4 tier cake featured 2 textured tiers to mimic burlap, and 2 tiers of bamboo. The separators and boards were covered in Jaguar Printed fondant. Sugar orchids and leaves grew from the cake. We finished it off w/crystal butterflies and dragonflies. We also created logo cookies for the giveaway bags.
Since there is such a great push to ‘go green’ , Pink Cake Box is able to offer organic cakes, cookies and cupcakes. Please ask us for details!

Here is a photo of last year’s Knot Wedding Party cake.

This rubber duck bathtub cake was created for a baby shower. What made this cake fun for me was that my brother, Serge, helped me with it. With a few weeks off before he starts his new job, he decided he’d like to come in one day to work with me.
This was a great cake to work with him on because he really got a kick out of ’tiling’ the floor. He actually said to me ‘ I’m not sure if you knew this, but cardiologists tend to be perfectionists.’ Ha! I’d certainly hope so!
Anyhoo - his perfectionism is apparent in the impeccable tile floor! He was also a little agitated at me that the plumbing on the tub appears to be ‘coming from nowhere.’ It’s artistic license…no ?
Anyway, I want to take this opportunity to thank my brother for coming in to work… and if the whole doctor thing doesn’t work out for him…he could have a promising career creating cakes…especially ones involving realistic plumbing!

Pale pink swiss dots with pink and brown bands (similar to our peony wedding cake) highlight this 4 tier wedding cake we delivered to Brick, NJ. The cake flavors include chocolate with peanut butter filling and pink velvet with raspberry chambord filling. To top it all off, a light pink bow with a pink crystal flower drapes down the top tier.
